80% done!

I'm about 80% done with packing. I was hoping to get everything done by Friday. That means packing, packing shipping boxes, packing husband's stuff and cleaning all the rooms. But letsbereal, that didn't happen. Not even close. On the upside, I'm way ahead than I was the last time we left so yay for that? I've pretty much got all my clothes packed except for the extra hoodies and jeans that'll go in husband's luggage and I got most of my makeup packed too (thank goodness!) I just have a bit more sorting/donating/selling and cleaning to get done. I don't even want to think about cleaning my car. Oyee.

My blogging has been suffering a bit since I've been running around either doing errands during the day or packing/sorting/cleaning at night. I haven't slept til 3 or 4am this whole week from being busy. The downside to all of this is my OCD isn't really acting up too badly but my hands are wayyy dried out. They were PAINFUL last night from how dry they were from touching everything from plastic to cloth to dusty things. Omgosh. I had to run cold water on them and I attempted to put on some heavy hand cream but they just stung so badly I had to just sit and cry for a little bit.

I obviously will not miss this dry air in California.

That's not to say that I'm not nervous about moving. Because I am. I wonder if it ever gets easier. But I guess when it comes down to leaving a place of comfort it probably never gets easier. Especially when you're going somewhere for a long period of time that'll take awhile to build comfort.

If I can just get these last few things done then I can spend the rest of the days before the trip relaxing and with my kitties. Back to work I go!

Oh, hello there!

Wow, it's been awhile since I've been here huh?

And you're probably wondering why I'm back and it's to tell you that both me and my husband applied for the DCP Spring 2013 program and we both got accepted!!! We're so excited to be able to go back to Disney. This year without it has been awful! Even Disneyland wasn't able to satisfy our Disney itch like it usually does... but I guess that's what happens when you live at Disney World, nothing else compares after that!

I had been meaning to blog about the journey and alla that but time and life kinda just got in the way then the holidays... and now that it's over I'm going to be going into crazy cleaning/packing mode. At least now I know what to bring with me! Which is no winter clothes lol.

We both got accepted into Merchandise which is pretty exciting! I can't wait to see where they'll put me!

I also have a Tumblr I'll be updating that you can find here (:

OMG I'm exhausted!

  • Less than 4 days left of work :( :( :(
  • Last closing shift was last night
  • Last shift with my buddy Justin :(
  • Went a bit shopping at Marketplace (for probably the last time *super sad face*) before work
  • I'm not a fan of the way Goofy's packages their caramel apples
  • If Disney wants to work on consistency they should try with that, just sayin
  • Got caught in a STORM. Tried to beat it to the break room and ended up having to take cover at Curl
  • Worked an 8hr shift with soaked socks, not fun
  • Didn't ROS for once cause Justin told me not to lol
  • Spent my whole second break talking to Nick (from Nick's Place), gonna miss him a ton
  • I'm nowhere near done packing yet, eep!!!
  • So excited for my vacay when I get back to the west coast
  • Not ready for this experience to end yet
  • My sickness is finally going away, it kinda feels like that right-before-Christmas cold. Mmm.
  • Mid shift today and opening tomorrow, the hell?
  • Did I mention I'm exhausted?
  • Had Micky D's with Amanda, husband and Justin last night. They had a bunch of new stuff on the menu. I feel so deprived.
  • I'm gonna kinda miss everything about Orlando...

So my program is coming to an end and I'm half relieved and half bummed out. I didn't get to do everything I wanted to do while I was here. I know it's a bit hard to believe since I was here for 7 months but trust me, you'll run out of time! I'm going to miss Disney World, I'm going to miss my friends, my leaders, my coordinators. Now I have to go back to my boring life back in California. I might come back, maybe do the alumni program. But I do need a break away from Disney! It's been fun Orlando, you've changed my life. For good <3.

Deployment, YOU SUCK.

Remember how last Friday I mentioned the bus was late? And how my leader was going to take care of it?

Wellllllllllll.... I've been checking my report card all week and guess what. The half a point is still there! So I brought it up to my leader the other day after my friend who was with me that day said that she didn't have her half a point anymore and my leader said that she said she would call deployment and see what they could do. Apparently, deployment said the bus wasn't late and that they have some sort of leeway or some crap. Hello! The bus was half an hour late. What kind of bullshit is that?

It's a bit unfair when I'm at the bus stop 15 minutes before the bus is suppose to be there and the bus is late yet I have to deal with this bull crap! There's no use in calling deployment myself because they would still have to talk to my leader who would need to call deployment to get the half a point taken off. It's just madness. Seriously. If you look at my record card, I was only late once. Why would I lie about the bus being late if I'm never late? And especially when you KNOW the DTD bus has been late since everyone has been late at least twice in the last two weeks because of the bus!

It just really frustrates me.

Not only that but my husband called in sick yesterday because he doesn't feel good. And he's not the type of person to just call out of work. He'll go to work sick with a fever and chills. And so he checks his record card this morning and they have him down as a no call/no show. Uhm, what the fuck? He called in. The person on the phone verified all his information. Seriously, what the hell deployment?

Not to mention that the last time I ROS'ed, I had to wait like twenty minutes before a coordinater called to find out what was going. Turns out whoever they talked to at deployment forgot to put in my ROS. Seriously?

And this is why I'm not going seasonal. They don't pay me enough to deal with this crap.

Another Friday at DisneyQuest.

The Downtown Disney bus was late yesterday. By the time it was 20 minutes late, Amanda who was also waiting with me decided to just drive to work. Then we hit traffic and we were still late. I managed to dash to Quest and get up the stairs and end up only 7 minutes late. But the thing that sucks is that even if you're one minute late, you still get .5 points.

Thank goodness my leader took care of it. It's frustrating when you're waiting for the bus early and the bus itself is late, making you late for work and you have to get in trouble for something you tried to prevent. And lately the DTD bus has been late pretty much everyday for the last like, month and a half.

The day was busy.

Now that the Casey Anthony trial is over Quest is back to its usual programming.... Harry Potter movies in the break room.

Oh that storm? Welcome to Thursday.

I'm all for a good sky-cracking-open Orlando thunderstorm but today's... I wasn't a fan of.

I decided to leave early for work and have lunch at Rainforest Cafe. When we left the apartment it looked like it was going to rain, by the time we got to the bus stop, it started sprinkling, half way to Downtown Disney it was pouring. Lightning, thunder, the whole thing! A lifeguard got on at Typhoon Lagoon with no shirt on because he had to use it to run through the rain. He had amazing abs, but it wasn't like I wanted to rawr those abs, I wanted to know how he got them. I'm convinced I'm a boy stuck in a girl's body sometimes...

Anyway, by the time we got to DTD, it was insane. Not only was it raining really hard and not only was there like a 3 second gap between lightning and not only was the thunder sky cracking loud... but the entire parking lot was flooded. I went to costuming to see if I could get new socks, but they don't carry socks. Crap. So we just walked through puddles to Nick's Place. The worst puddle was right in front of my leader's offices, it didn't look like a deep puddle but it was deep enough to reach my husband's calf! So we went around and he had to carry me through the other puddles. OMG, insane. By the time we got to Nick's; my socks, shoes, jacked and bag were all super soaked. To make it worse, my bag apparently doesn't repeal water so everything in my bag got soaked too. Including my work shirt and my apron. I'm surprised my phone and iPod didn't suffer from water damage.

Ended up just eating lunch at Nick's. Which wasn't too bad, Nick got to meet my husband lol!

Went to work and just like I suspected, the A/C was on full blast. I was freeeezing my butt off. Kim was trying to assure me that it wasn't that cold. Until I told her I was anemic and I spent the first 3 hours of my shift doing dishes and staying as close to hot water as possible. But still, I couldn't feel my hands and my feet. I didn't get my break until 3 hours after and decided to just ROS since they wouldn't ER me. I was literally shivering. Kim was offering hugs to warm me up but at that point I was just really really cold.

I love Florida and I love the thunderstorms, but I can not wait to go back to California weather. This storm and these hours are starting to burn me out.

Fourth of July!

I didn't really have anything special planned for 4th of July this year since originally it was my day off alone. So I was going to celebrate by doing laundry (hey, it's Monday, Monday is laundry day), eating a patriotic cupcake and having my favorite cocktail at my favorite resort.

But my husband managed to get the day off with me. So the day was still spent doing laundry. Then we headed over to the Polynesian resort where I had my heart set on Kona Cafe but he suggested his favorite place -- 'Ohana. Now, 'Ohana is kinda like Chef Mickey's, it's almost impossible to get a reservation there. But since he suggested and he never really says "hey, let's go here." I decided to go with it. So we stood in the stand by line waiting for cancellations for about two hours before I decided to visit the sushi bar and get something to snack on (and OMG I've found a new obsession, will post a picture when I go back next week. Seriously, this sushi is amazing. Do I really have to leave Walt Disney World in 4 weeks?) and while I was waiting for my order he comes back and says it's okay we don't really have to go and I got sad cause I know how much he LOVES 'Ohana and he goes "because I got a pager!" jerk.

I spent most of dinner eating salad, bread and noodles. And shrimp. I'm not too crazy about 'Ohana like he (and almost everyone else) is but I do love their coconut pineapple bread and the shrimp. As soon as we were seated and the shrimps came around he asked for an ENTIRE skewer. So every time our server passed by he would pick on my husband about taking his whole skewer lol!

I'm sure he probably ate our entire bill in shrimp!

Finally got to try their talked about bread pudding which was really really good! But of course, the star of the dessert was the Mickey sprinkles in the back! I'm such a sucker for Mickey sprinkles!

Right when our dinner was ending, the firework show at Magic Kingdom  was starting like everyone in 'Ohana stopped eating and everyone was staring out the window. I should had taken a picture, it was kinda creepy haha! We raced downstairs to the beach and watched the fireworks. I have pictures, but they're on my other camera and I don't feel like switching them right now. I'm not a fan of fireworks but OMG, best 4th of July firework show I've ever seen. It hit me, I'm watching the 4th of July firework show in Walt Disney World and in that moment, my life was complete. Seriously, it was such an amazing feeling.

After the fireworks and a bit of pin trading we took the guest bus to Downtown Disney.

Paid a visit to my home store that I miss sometimes. I use to be one of the people who stitches the names on the back of the Mickey ears hats.

Went to Art of Disney next door and fell in love with this Sleeping Beauty trio set. $700. One day!

Then we made our way over to Westside to see how my friends were doing. Did some pin trading at D-Street and headed over to bother the people in Candy Cauldron production. It was Emily's second to last day so I was hoping she would be there.

And she was! Megan was there too. Were these the only two people in kitchen production on the 4th of July?! They put on a show for us and I snapped a bunch of pictures. It was funny cause Megan went into the stock room and pulled out the cotton candy machine cover and put it over Emily's head lol! Weirdo!

I was trying to see who else was back there and Emily swung the door open and I tried to get Justin to come out into the kitchen but he's in his D-Street costume lol. See Candy Cauldron's itty bitty stock room? To the left is the merchandise and to the right is our 3 compartment sink where we wash dishes. Yeah, not much room for walking!

But aw, my favorites!

And of course, the cupcake I mentioned. It was delicious. And the frosting is buttercream!

Give it a try next time you're at a Disney park. It's under $3 and it counts as a snack on the snack plan :)

Hope everyone had an awesome and safe 4th of July!

Oh Disney Quest...

Worked at Quest last night. I went a few months without working there for awhile, now I'm there at least once a week. I normally don't like working at Quest because it's usually really, really, really slow and boring but I guess since it's summer people have been flocking in like crazy. It's nice to finally have something to do in there but... the kids tend to wreck the entire place. It's insane. The Goofy's powder station is usually COMPLETELY wrecked by the time the rush passes. Not only is there a bunch of plastic wrappers from the tubes but there's sugar everywhere and on occasion there's toys/hats/etc on the station covered in the sugar. Yeah, it's pretty frustrating!

Last night was insane. The whole night was busy. My legs feel swollen! I didn't have time to stock much or sweep up the Goofy's station from how busy it was. Goodness!

I have a friend who works in... I don't know where but I've known him for about as long as I've been at West Side and I don't know his name! Which bugs me because he knows mine lol. But he's a cool guy, I'm gonna miss all these random people I know when I leave...

The thing the sucked the most yesterday was my husband broke my umbrella the other day playing with it and so when I got off the CP bus for work yesterday it decides to rain. Awesome, right? Ruined my plans of getting Earl of Sandwich, again. So I went to Wolfgang Puck on West Side (I regret it now, shoulda went to FoodQuest instead) and I swear, they have the slowest service in the world! Wolfgang in Marketplace is awesome. But West Side? It took them half an hour to get me my to-go order. And this is the second time I've come here and the second time it's happened. AND she got my order wrong. Never again!

On the upside, Rose Marie praised me for filling out my paperwork right (it's the same way I always do it, but either way praise is always nice) and had an interesting conversation with Roberto from Mexico about books, parties and alcohol lol!

Now it's 5:30am and I can't sleep. Husband has already left for his receiving shift and blah. I'm so tired. The blisters on my toes won't heal and as much as I'll miss this place, I can't wait to go home and relax for once.

5 weeks left...

I can't believe my program is already coming to an end, it feels like I literally just got here. I have a little less than five weeks left of work and as of today, five weeks left in Orlando.

I was on the bus ride home from Port Orleans last night (only took me 6 months to finally visit that resort) and it hit me, how sad I'm going to be when I close the door to my apartment one last time. How sad I'm going to be on the flight back home and how sad I'm going to be when I'm sitting in my own room across the country from my friends and from Walt Disney World.

This program has literally changed my life. These people have changed my life. These experiences, memories and struggles, have changed my life. This has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I'm so happy that I did go through with it.

I'm hoping to catch up on some blogging on Monday since I'm off and it's 4th of July. I'm debating on where to go since I'm trying to avoid the parks, I'm sure they will be packed beyond packed so I'm not even going to bother! I'll probably get a cupcake and dine at the Polynesian resort!

I seriously can not imagine my life without Magic Kingdom, Candy Cauldron, pin trading and buying choco covered marshmallows whenever I want :(

Saturday, June 18, 2011

Ahhhh!

I'm hardcore craving a choco dipped strawberry and a toffee slab. Mmm! But I'm too lazy to go out and get one.

I know I've been suuuper slacking on posts and I know I always say that but legit, there isn't much to say around here but even when there is, I'm usually too tired to update.

Worked 9a-3p at Candy Cauldron the last two days. As much as I suck at waking up early, it's always nice to come home while the sun is still up.

Yesterday it was just me, Matt, Honeyvie and Elizabeth opening. But it was a lot more eventful than today, we got Selma's in yesterday, yay! But today we ran out of white choco chip cookies. Whuuut. I know, right? Robby also spent all yesterday morning making Mickey out of our twist ties LOL! Honeyvie was waving it around like "it's a cat! it's a cat!" LOL! Also I save a ton of money by being at work early because I can't eat that early so I never finish my Chicken Parm sandwich from Nick's. Saving money right there!

After work went home and found a gift from husband on my night stand, a Cheshire Cat toy. One I wanted when we first got here. Aww, thanks love!

I wanted to treat him to Ohana but he called and they said they were all booked up and he didn't want to wait for an opening so we didn't go there. We decided to go to Animal Kingdom Lodge since we haven't been there yet and so we're waiting for the bus and this wicked STORM hits. Like, strong winds, rain, thunder, lightning, the whole thing just at the same time. It was insane, sounded like the sky was cracking open but it was relaxing and awesome. I loved every minute of it!

So we get toe Animal Kingdom Lodge and didn't know there were two sides but OMG that place is beautiful! It's dim and relaxing and there's animals out back that you could watch. Amazing. We ended up eating dinner at Boma (now can cross that off the list) and man... should just waited on Ohana. We weren't impressed, that's all.

Today it's pretty hot and sunny out. Work was slow, boring, nothing interesting happened. The new caramel... I'm not a fan of. It puddles, not cool. I slightly regret not going to Earl's and Goofy's but man... the Maketplace is so far from West Side when it's like 90 degree's outside. And I didn't want to wait on another bus if I missed one. So I just went home. Husband was late for his bus so I spent a little bit of time with him at the bus stop. Poor thing.

Going to attempt to make pineapple fried rice some time today. Was hoping to go to Wal Mart, but the bus stops running at 630 (yeah it's one of those days). Hate that. I also hate how it's like a million degrees outside but it's always freezing in my apartment! Can I get some room temp in here?! I'm having a war with myself about if I should go out today since I'm home early or just stay home and relax. Even though I know I should stay home and relax considering that I have two 9hr shifts ahead of me before my next day off *sigh* well at least I'll get to see that money! Unlike this week. Darn missing rent.

My cousins from the Philippines are at my parents house and I'm looking at their pictures and it's making me miss home so much. I have about 7 weeks left here in Orlando and that's insane to think about too. I miss home but I know I'm going to miss Orlando and Disney World so very much when I leave. I'm coming back, of course, but it's going to be so weird to be so far away from it all and from my friends. I should probably start packing and stuff now though lol. I know those 7 weeks will go by fast!

Also, inspections #4 (are we on #4?) is coming up next week. Ughhh. Inspections!

Spring 2011 graduation.

We graduated!!
Graduation was over the span of 3 days last week. Or was it the week before? I don't remember. But since we had extended, I wasn't expecting a diploma! I went to check if I had one when my boo thang Patrick went to pick his up. Originally I wasn't planning on going but since I had one, I had to go!

It's just weird. When I arrived here, it was a week or so before the last program's graduation and I remember being annoyed cause at the time I worked at World of Memories and all these people came in wanting their graduation ears (the one's I'm wearing) stitched and now it's my graduation? Where the heck did time go? I always thought the people who didn't update their blogs once they got to Orlando just didn't care enough to. But I was wrong, you literally don't have time to do much once you're here. I mean people make time to like party and club and stuff (but you're moving). But when you're sitting about to write a blog, you'll fall asleep. No joke. I don't know how many times I've sat here with my blog open and just fell asleep. The only time I legit have time to clean my apartment is when I'm skipping out on a few hours of sleep before inspections. It's crazy out here!

Last week Betsy, Yarissa, Daria and Priscilla left West Side. And today is Alexis, John and Kendra's last day. It's so weird not having these people around anymore. Like I'm at Quest this weekend and with everyone gone... who the heck am I closing with?! Then next week all my friends from Thailand will be leaving and the week after my Kiersten will be leaving :(. Time has definitely traveled way to fast. I feel like we all just got here!

Husband has switched over to Merchandise, he actually had his Merchantainment class this morning so that's pretty exciting. I'm a little jealous though cause he's in a location that has confectionery and for them, after 30 days they're kitchen trained. Yeah, doesn't work that way on West Side. I've been there for 2 months and I'm not kitchen trained. But I've been having a great debate with myself the last few weeks over if I should ask to be or not. I love being on the floor but it would be cool to be kitchen trained too... ah, I dunno!

I think I have new neighbors. Cause the people downstairs are either screaming and yelling or spending all night slamming doors. Ugh.

I totally fail.

Oh mannn I totally fail at updating this blog (and every other blog I have. I fail at Tweeting, come on now, like that takes time)! It's been crazy busy here because of Grad Night weeks and the heat is moving on in. It's been SO hot and humid here lately that some days I just can't stand it! And everyone keeps saying it gets worse in August! Could it REALLY get worse than THIS?

I have so much to update on!! My birthday, things that are going on and the formal that was last night! I don't want to cover those things because I want to make a separate post so I'll just update on the things that are going on.

The Spring semester is ending in about a week and a half and that's just so hard to believe. It feels like we just got here and I say that because if I had not extended, I would be going home in ELEVEN DAYS. That just blows my mind! It's already May?! But just because I'm not leaving doesn't make it less sad. ALL of my friends on West Side are leaving. I think there's about 3 or 4 of us that are staying. A few people have "end of program" over their work times on the schedule and it's just a damn reminder that they're leaving soon :( I'm seriously sad! I love the people I work with, I love the new friends I've made and it's hard to imagine West Side without them. Kinda makes me wish I had extended into a different area or into something else. Even though I love West Side.

Husband extended into Merch so that's exciting. It's his last week or so at Buzz so I took a bunch of pictures of him today there and a few with some of his friends. He's going over to Hollywood Studios, pretty exciting, at least I think so. I wonder where they'll deploy him to!

Someone stole 17 Muppet Vinylmations from D-Street the other day. From what I heard they left the boxes in the case but took the Vinylmations. How the hell they got away with that is beyond me. And why would you leave the boxes?! I think putting new releases by the door are a bad idea. I mean I get the purpose, but I don't think there should be that many boxes up there.

I still think Pin Cart should had followed Mickey's Groove and went away.

I've been hanging out with Kiersten a lot lately and going to Micky D's with Betsy a lot too. I'm going to miss West Side Micky D's trips.

I washed my clothes and forgot I had a BBQ sauce in my pocket (I checked ALL of my pockets except my hoodie, wth was I thinking) and I got BBQ sauce ALL OVER my clothes and towels. I was suppose to re-wash everything today but I had no money for laundry. Why can't it just take debit like everything else. Ugh. I'm so upset right now.

Did I mention a girl my husband works with asked him to the formal? She knows he's married, she's hung out with me a handful of times and always acts like she's happy to see me with her hugs and crap but... asks my husband to the formal. Oh and then, the next day, she invited him to hang out with her at the pool. Uh, what?

What else?

Lately I've been breaking out like crazy. But you didn't need to know that.

I'm going to go resize pictures and make a post about the formal now lol.

Happy First Birthday D-Street Orlando!

[ yes, this is our dresser ]

Today's D-Street Orlando's first birthday! Yay!

Zone 4 celebrated yesterday. They had Vinylmation artists come in and sign some stuff, I saw a few Nightmare Before Christmas boxes signed when I got to work (no more Jack's though! Boo)! We had a huge sign in sheet for guests on the floor and one for cast members in the stock room. We had cake and every cast member got a gift. Not saying what it is :). We also got to rock the birthday pin (which is kind of a big deal on West Side since it's not "Disney Look")! Except people kept telling us happy birthday without reading that it's for D-Street! We wore it to invite guests to celebrate with us!

I'll update on my birthday soon. Hopefully on Monday when I'm off! I also have to go to Magic Kingdom's costuming to pick up a costume for Fantasyland! I wasn't deployed like everyone else, I traded shifts with Betsy. Just want to see what it's like to work at a park for one day!

CONVO OF THE DAY:
P: If he comes to switch places with you. I'm punching him in the throat. Swear to God. Hawwww!
*I get handed a break slip*
P: Hazel, come here. No, I just wanna say something! Hawwww!

HAHA!!

Today's my 26th Birthday!

We started celebrating yesterday by having lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom's Liberty Square (not really worth it) and venturing around the park! Then ending the day at Downtown Disney for some sweet treats. Today we're going to Hollywood Studios (thank goodness it's NOT raining like it said it would be) then husband is taking me to Ohana's for dinner and we're going back to Hollywood Studios to see Fantasmic! Tomorrow will be spent at Epcot!

Pictures soon :)

Extension approved!

About a week or two ago emails went out for anyone who wanted to extend their program who were leaving in May. Both my husband and I applied to extend and they were both approved! I decided to stay in my current role/location while husband decided to transfer from Attractions to Merchandise and he got approved. Yay!!! So instead of leaving in May, we're now leaving in August!

I was trained in Candy Cauldron a few days ago. It's not rocket science but it is going to take some getting use to to know everything that's going on. Remembering all the fudges and what goes in them mostly. I thought I'd hate it there -- all of my co-workers talk about how much they hate it but it's actually kind of fun. I love how fast paced it is, I just hate how small the work area is. Since I'm staying until August, I'm going to ask if I can be kitchen trained so I can make caramel apples!

Okay, kind of silly but...ever since I was a kid, the candy store in Main Street at Disneyland has always been my favorite store in the entire park (well besides maybe Pooh's Corner, but only because they have caramel apples there too) and I always thought it would be awesome to work at a Disney candy store. And to actually work in one now? It's just amazing. Seriously, amazing.

The downside to this week though.... is that in January when I got here I requested days off for my birthday. Which were approved. But since I switched job locations, they took them back because I didn't re-submit them since they "don't travel with me". Keep in mind, NO ONE told me this. So when I checked my schedule for next week and saw that I don't have my birthday requested days off, that kinda irritated me. I'm going to try to talk to my scheduling manager tonight and see if they can fix it. That's totally not fair. I'm glad I didn't attempt to go home, I woulda been pissed. I really don't want to call out that day so I hope this is all fixed before next week.

Inspections #2 and 6 days.

It's storming today. Thunder came out of nowhere at like 2am this morning. Ruined my plans of going to Magic Kingdom for some Tavern and Celebration Fudge. Apparently it's going to be storming all week. Which is weird considering how HOT and HUMID it was YESTERDAY. I don't think I'll ever get use to Florida weather.

We have our second inspections coming up and the apartment is a complete and utter MESS. I tried getting all the bigger organizing done last week but that kinda failed so yeah. At least the laundry's done. Well, half of it anyway. Gahh. I only have today and tomorrow to clean this damn place up. I guess it's a sign. Rain = I don't get out and have nothing else to do but clean the damn place up for inspections. Awesome. Flippin awesome.

I'm working six days this week. Which isn't that bad, I guess. I kinda need the money. I'm just curious to know how grumpy I'll be at the end of the week. All closing shifts too. It's kinda funny cause I hate closing but as soon as I get home after closing I'm wishing I was still at work. I hate being home. Kind of.

Husband pulled me out of bed yesterday morning to catch the first bus to Wal Mart to get a 3DS. Ughh. But I got my Nook Color, so I'm happy. Early bday gift for myself. Nothing else I really want besides a case of Villains Vinylmations.

Speaking of, if the rain stops at any point today I'll probably make a quick trip to Downtown Disney and trade a keychain. Hopefully they still have either the Friday the 13th one or the skull one. Or I'll just buy 'em. Whatever.

Work has been good, busy. Not really much else to really say. Mickey's Groove is closing this week, Park #6 Vinylmations is released this Friday and I'm being trained for Candy Cauldron next week. That's pretty much all.

Now on to cleaning this place up!

Our internet is down.

This is probably the longest week, ever

I had a 13hr shift for the first time on Wednesday at Mickey's Groove. Which pretty much means I had a 13hr shift at pin cart. And it was true. At least Alexis, Yarissa and Kelli were there! Even though Kelli was out to destroy me with that damn light saber. I swear she was! Had 6hrs at Quest yesterday with Pedro (who has wayyyy too much energy) and... damn I keep forgetting her name. It got super busy at one point and this lady wants two mugs shipped to her resort, I forgot to key in to ship to the resort so I had to return everything and do it over. But! I can't do my own returns so I had to wait for someone to do it and she got really impatient because she was going to miss her show (Cirque) and she cut in and asked Pedro to help her. Lady, you see it's busy. Why do people do things super last minute and expect miracles? I was super tired all day. Good thing I got two sandwiches at Earl's, I didn't have to make dinner when I got home and I went to sleep.

My allergies are kicking my ass. I've been waking up with a stuffed up nose and teary eyes. My left eye is swollen. I can't take Claritin until 1. Erg.

Our internet has been out for two days now. We called front desk yesterday and they said some apartments are under "routine maintenance". For two days?! Blah!

I need to find some time to go to Wal Mart before Monday. My work times are so off. Wouldn't be a big deal if I had a car. It just sucks that if you work at 4pm, you have to catch the bus at like 245pm. The bus times are off sometimes too. You're either an hour early, 12 minutes early or 2 minutes late (and you have to factor in the time it takes you to put your stuff away and GET to work. Plus the break room on West Side to to the actual store you're in is like a 3 minute walk).

I didn't mean for this entry to seem like an ever ending rant. I just feel like crap right now. Damn allergies. I'll have happier entries as soon as I get time to edit the pictures are write them.

I know every mile, will be worth my while.

Let's pretend it's not March 6th and it's still March 5th, yeah?

I woke up 2 hours early for my bus, I had a dream my bus left at a different time and stuck with it. Good thing I checked before I actually left or I woulda been really sad. Yay for not enough sleep. Had an odd early shift today. And got out at 5:30. Uhm, okay. I should be tired right now, but I only have a slight headache that I hope will go away, soon.

Yesterday was my last day at West Side and how fitting that it was at Quest. Since my first week of deployment was at Quest. The only down side to that was that it was insanely slow. I mean, there was a point where I was completely alone in the store for like fifteen minutes. Completely alone. Just me. Alone. During business hours. It was kinda scary (thanks for leaving me Cyril)! Speaking of, I made a friend the other day who's from France. How cool is that? California isn't half as cool as France, just sayin.

Even though the day was slow, it went by pretty fast too. So yeah. My deployment at West Side is over. Which means... I go back to Memories today. I got a brand spanking new apron after work. It's so crisp.

Headed over to Marketplace to buy Vinylmations. I know, I know. BUT. I did get the chaser for Cutesters Too! Now to get the super chaser. My mystery keychain was the Cheshire Cat one, whoo! Let's hope they don't release a Cheshire Cat Vinylmation. Oh I also asked Matt if someone with zero experience in Memories could take my shift. His response? "We get people all the time who don't know what's going on". Awesome. I'm going to D-Street on Wednesday! I'm so excited! Anyone willing to give up Zone 4 shifts, let me know! Latara need not apply lol. Oh I also got a shirt I've been wanting :)

I'm sad I'm leaving West Side. I know I hated it when I first got there but now I absolutely love it. I mean, it still has its faults but it was a pretty amazing experience to work three completely different stores. Now I have to go back into Marketplace mode and I have no idea what that is anymore. But at least I can get back to eating Creme Brulee's before work again. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. But I do know I'll miss the friends I made at West Side, very much. Now work won't be half as fun as it has been for the last few weeks.

Wicked in one day. Not as excited as I thought I would be...

Horrible.

I was pretty excited to be able to work D-Street yesterday. Like I've mentioned, I'm a huge fan of Vinylmation's. And for the most part, I was having a rather fantastic day. The girls I worked with (and guys) were really nice and welcoming and helpful. I had fun sharing the surprise with guests when they opened their mystery boxes and trading with them and figuring out the science behind Vinylmation. I also got to talk to a guy who designed a few Vinylmation's himself that we have in our glass case.

However.

When it came to closing, that's when the day started to go bad. It might not be a big deal but the vending machine took my $5 so I didn't have dinner. I had two bags of chips and half an Almond Joy (and when husband and I went back after my shift to get my stuff from the locker -- which is ghetto and so is the bathroom -- my $5 wasn't stuck in the machine anymore, someone took it!).

The closing manager wasn't very friendly. She's a bit demanding and she talks indirectly to you which I find rude especially when she's ordering you to do something. If you're going to order me to do something, at least look at me when you're talking to me. If there's four of us in the room, how do we know WHO you're talking to? So I go straighten up the store and I go into the back room and manager goes "You. Take out the trash." I've never worked in this location before, I don't know how things go. She got mad at me for opening a roll of nickles 15 minutes before closing (I only had 5 nickles left) but at my main location, we're require to open all the rolls of coins so I thought it was okay. It would be nice if the managers let us know how things work in THEIR store instead of ASSUMING we know. Cause we don't!

So I gather the trash and I tell her I don't know where it goes. She does her indirect talking again and tells me that it goes over by Disney Quest. Okay? So... do I just leave it next to the Disney Quest building?? So she tries telling me where to go and which doors to go through and which turns to make... uhm? If you see behind Disney Quest, it's like a maze back there. It's 12:30AM, do you think I really care about the directions you're giving me? Especially after the way you're talking to me? No. I don't.

So she tells me to wait for someone from the zone to show me. So I'm waiting at the door. Like she told me to.

Next thing I hear is yelling and boxes being thrown around. My co-worker who was standing by that door was telling the manager that I've never been to this location and even she didn't know that the boxes had to go out. And so she motions for me to get over there and the managers like, messing up all the boxes and telling me it has to go out. You know, you could have just kindly told me that the boxes need to go out too.

It's just insane. There aren't any managers in this zone that you really want to be in the room with. They're all really grumpy and irritated all the time. And that's pretty sad. I can't wait to go back to my main location. I'm going to give every manager and coordinator a big huge hug and tell them to never leave me.

Husband and I decided we won't be extending. While I think the college program is an amazing once in a lifetime opportunity, some things just aren't really worth dealing with more than once.

I'm not looking forward to the rest of this weekend since it's suppose to be busy cause of some holiday. Then there's inspections (gosh this week sucks) and I just got done scrubbing down the stove and the counters in the kitchen. I moped the bathroom and front door area yesterday, husband moped the kitchen a few hours ago. I need to tidy up the living room and our room, vacuum and get the trash and laundry ready for tomorrow so things will go smoothly. I also need to get ready for work soon. Fantastic. Just fantastic.

I'm gonna buy myself a Vinylmation or two. And plan a spa weekend. I deserve it.

I'm also going to be starting "Eating Around The World" at Epcot! I don't know if I'll make a different blog for that or keep it here.
